If you would be interested in attending a class on any of the following subjects, please email artsandsciences@bfs-kc.org:

     Basic Roman Garb (Clothing)

     Making Lucet Cord (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucet)

     Beginning Narrow Weaving (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inkle_weaving)

If there are art or science subjects related to the Middle Ages that you would like to learn more about or teach, please let me know. Most of the Baronial classes take place during fighter practice and at the same venue, but other times and places are possible.

New Baronial A&S Champion Needed

My time as Baronial A&S Champion ended when TE Soren and Rowen stepped down, and as such, TE Kendall and Alianora find themselves in need of a new champion.

To that end, we will hold a Baronial A&S competition in late April or early May, either at Unslung Heroes or weekly fighter practice. We'll nail down the date as we get closer, but we wanted to make sure everyone had plenty of time to work on their entry.

The theme for this competition is to "make something for your persona." Have you ever heard the expression "the cobbler's children go barefoot"? I know way too many artisans who put off their personal projects to work on things for others. So I'm gonna make you all be selfish for a while. Do you need some new garb? A brooch? New knife? Some cheese? Write up a 3x5 notecard (although more is preferred) including when and where it would be from and enter it! (And you better not give it away afterwards. Except maybe the cheese.)
